Ground-floor villa window in Dubai with a slim dark aluminium frame and thick laminated glass seen from the garden at dusk

Security windows

Security in a window is a chain, not a part, and an intruder only needs the weakest link in it. Laminated glass turns the pane into a barrier rather than an obstacle — struck, it stays in the frame instead of falling out of it. Locking that engages around the whole sash spreads the resistance instead of concentrating it at one handle. And the glazing beads face into the room, so the unit cannot simply be levered out from the terrace. Get one of the three wrong and the other two are decoration.

Branded Aluminum Windows UAE service car on a Dubai seafront road

Advantages of working with us

  • In-house production

Windows, doors and glazed structures are made at our own factory in the UAE. Manufacturing takes 3–5 weeks from the survey, and the dates are written into the contract.

  • Room measurement

After a free consultation, an engineer comes to measure within 48 hours and answers the technical questions on site — openings, profile, glass and hardware.

  • Delivery of products

We deliver with our own transport across Dubai and all Emirates, and the installation date is agreed in advance so the crew arrives with the finished units.

  • Installation on site

A "clean" installation is carried out – all construction debris is removed, and dust and dirt are cleaned. Work can be conducted with or without your presence. The date and time are discussed individually.

  • Guarantee

The structures we make and the installation our crews carry out are covered by one warranty under one contract. The profile system also carries the manufacturer's warranty — up to 20 years, depending on the system.

  • Service

Warranty cases are handled by the same crews that did the installation: send the address and photos, and in most cases we can say before the visit whether it is an adjustment, a gasket or a glass unit.

How a window is made hard to get through

  • Exposure walked at the survey Which openings a stranger can reach
  • Laminated units placed where they count Ground floor, terrace, flat roof
  • Locking points matched to the leaf size More cams on a tall sash
  • Keeps anchored into the frame chamber A cam is only as good as its keep
  • Beads turned inward when glazing Decided in the factory, not on site
  • Handles keyed where the family wants Balanced against leaving in a hurry

Partitions

Office partitions made of aluminium profiles are a simple, quick, and cost-effective way to organise efficient zoning within a large space, while maintaining interior unity.

The honest downside

When security glazing is more than you need

Security glazing makes every protected sash heavier and busier. Laminated units weigh more than ordinary ones, multi-point locking has more cams and keeps to adjust, and a cracked laminated pane stays in the frame but still has to be replaced as a whole unit.

Keyed handles bring a trade-off of their own: a window that is hard to open from outside is also slower to open from inside, which matters in a bedroom that may be somebody's way out in an emergency.

On upper floors with no route up from the garden, or where the real worry is a child leaning out rather than someone breaking in, restrictors and child-safety locks on an ordinary window do the job with less weight and cost. Security windows stay the right answer on ground floors, onto terraces and beside flat roofs.

Consider instead Child safety

Frequently asked questions

They fail in opposite ways, and that is the whole point. Toughened glass is strong until it goes, and then it goes completely — the entire pane collapses into small blunt pieces, which is excellent for preventing injury and useless for keeping somebody out. Laminated glass is two panes bonded to a tough interlayer: hit it and it cracks, but the interlayer holds the pieces and the opening stays closed. For security you want laminated; in a child's bedroom you may want both properties, and a unit can carry them in different panes.

They do not have to. Everything doing the work lives inside the profile or inside the glass — the locking points, the keeps, the pins, the interlayer. From the garden it is the same slim frame and the same clear pane as the window beside it, which is normally what an owner wants: a villa that looks open and behaves closed. Bars and grilles are a separate conversation, and we usually argue against them, because they also stop you getting out.

Anything a person can reach from the ground or from something they can drag across to it: ground-floor rooms, windows onto a terrace or a boundary wall, anything beside a flat roof or a car port, and the sash next to a door handle. Upper floors on a villa come down to the ladder question — whether there is one, and whether the garden is overlooked. We walk the plot during the survey and mark the openings rather than upgrading a whole house on principle.

Three things, and they arrive free with it. It damps sound, which is why the acoustic units we build are laminated too. It stops most of the ultraviolet, so fabric and timber in a bright majlis fade more slowly. And it is the safe answer for a full-height pane, because somebody who walks into it does not go through it. That combination is why laminated glass ends up in a lot of jobs that were never about security at all.
