Sun-facing rooms and penthouses
A penthouse or a villa living room with a west elevation takes the full afternoon sun, and the air conditioning works hardest there. COR 80 Industrial is the Cortizo casement for those rooms: a deeper frame, sashes up to 160 kg and room for the thickest glass in the family.
What Uw from 0.71 W/m²K and 16–73 mm glazing mean
Uw from 0.71 W/m²K is the lowest starting value of the three Cortizo casement series: COR 70 Industrial is published from 0.76 W/m²K and COR 60 from 1.0 W/m²K. In Dubai the frame is only part of the story: the glazing range of 16–73 mm lets a solar-control coating, laminated panes and a wide cavity go into one unit, so the heat that reaches the room through the glass drops too.
Sound reduction is published up to 46 dB (Rw), useful for homes near main roads.
COR 80 or COR 70 Industrial
COR 70 Industrial is 70 / 78 mm, takes glazing of 6–63 mm and is published with burglar resistance RC2 (WK2). COR 80 Industrial goes further on insulation and glass thickness, while COR 60 publishes the higher sound figure, up to 48 dB. Which one is right depends on whether heat, security or noise leads the brief.
COR 80 Industrial is the Cortizo casement for rooms where the insulation figure leads the specification.
