A single sash on side hinges, sealed on all four edges. The simplest opening type to keep airtight in a climate of 46°C design summers, peaks above 50°C and sand-laden shamal winds — and the one that takes the widest range of glazing units.
Three contours of EPDM seals keep the glass off the aluminium and close the gap between sash and frame, so dust, humid salt air and wind-driven rain stay outside.

Foamed inserts fill the profile chambers and stop air circulating inside them, so less outside heat and street noise passes through the frame into the cooled room.

Glass-filled polyamide thermal breaks up to 40 mm wide keep the outer and inner shells apart, so the frame holds its shape and its insulation through a UAE summer.

Double glazing up to 60 mm thick puts a sealed gap of still air or gas between the hot street and the cooled room, so less heat crosses the glass into the room.

The honest downside
An open casement sash takes space. Opened inward it swings over the sill, the blind and whatever stands under the window; opened outward it catches the wind, and on a high floor that is a sash you will hesitate to leave open. Where furniture sits right against the glass or the opening faces a corridor or a walkway, the sash itself becomes the obstacle.
Very wide openings are the second limit. A single side-hung sash only grows so far before its weight works against the hinges, so a wide opening becomes several sashes with mullions between them — more frame in the view than many people expect.
If the opening is wide, faces a balcony or has nowhere for a sash to swing, a sliding window keeps the whole width free of a swinging leaf. Casement stays the better answer where tight sealing against dust and a wide choice of glass matter more than floor space.
