Circular aluminium window with a slim rolled frame set in a plaster wall of a Dubai villa stair landing, palm crown visible through the round glass

Round windows

A circle has no straight run to hide a joint in, so a round window is made the patient way: the profile is rolled to its radius on a bending machine, the gasket runs the whole way round without a break, and the pane is cut to shape before it is toughened rather than after. Nearly all of them are fixed, because hardware wants a straight stile to bolt to — which suits where they are actually asked for: a stair landing, a gable over a majlis, a wall that wants one deliberate opening instead of a window. The fabrication is unhurried; it is the survey that decides whether the piece looks right, because a circle reports a wall that is out of true instantly.

Advantages of working with us

  • In-house production

Windows, doors and glazed structures are made at our own factory in the UAE. Manufacturing takes 3–5 weeks from the survey, and the dates are written into the contract.

  • Room measurement

After a free consultation, an engineer comes to measure within 48 hours and answers the technical questions on site — openings, profile, glass and hardware.

  • Delivery of products

We deliver with our own transport across Dubai and all Emirates, and the installation date is agreed in advance so the crew arrives with the finished units.

  • Installation on site

A "clean" installation is carried out – all construction debris is removed, and dust and dirt are cleaned. Work can be conducted with or without your presence. The date and time are discussed individually.

  • Guarantee

The structures we make and the installation our crews carry out are covered by one warranty under one contract. The profile system also carries the manufacturer's warranty — up to 20 years, depending on the system.

  • Service

Warranty cases are handled by the same crews that did the installation: send the address and photos, and in most cases we can say before the visit whether it is an adjustment, a gasket or a glass unit.

How a round window reaches the wall

  • Opening traced onto a physical template A tape cannot describe a circle
  • Radius and frame depth agreed A tight radius changes the profile
  • Blockwork cut back to the template Reveal made good before delivery
  • Profile rolled and the ring closed in Dubai Three to five weeks from the drawing
  • Pane shaped, dressed and toughened Hardened only once the shape is final
  • Set, packed and sealed in one run The bead is closed without a joint

Partitions

Office partitions made of aluminium profiles are a simple, quick, and cost-effective way to organise efficient zoning within a large space, while maintaining interior unity.

The honest downside

Before you ask for a round window

A circle holds less glass than the square it would fit inside, and as a rule that glass is fixed: the room gets light from it, not air. Shading it is awkward too — blinds and tracks are straight, so a round pane on a sunny elevation is either left bare or fitted with a made-to-measure shade.

It is a one-off in every part: the ring is rolled, the pane shaped and toughened to that radius, and a cracked disc is remade to the drawing rather than cut from stock.

If you want a curve and a way to air the room in the same opening, an arched window keeps the curved head and puts an ordinary sash beneath it. A round window stays the right answer as a deliberate feature on a stair landing or in a gable, where light and composition matter more than ventilation.

Consider instead Arched windows

Frequently asked questions

Rarely, and it is worth knowing why before you ask for it. Standard gear locks into straight stiles and swings on hinges that need a flat edge to sit against; a circle offers neither, so an opening version means a pivot built around the centre of the ring and a seal that has to wipe rather than compress. Where a room needs air we put the circle in as a fixed feature and give the ventilation to an ordinary sash elsewhere in the same wall.

The shape is the strong part. A rectangle has four mitred corners, and corners are where perimeter seals are worked hardest and where water finds its way in; a rolled ring has none, and the gasket goes round it as a single unbroken length. What does need care is the joint between the frame and the wall, since a circular reveal is harder to make good than a straight one — which is the reason we template the opening rather than dimension it.

Both ends are set by physics rather than by a catalogue. Roll a section too tightly and the profile distorts on the inside of the curve, so a small porthole has to move to a slimmer section; go the other way and the pane becomes a disc that a crew has to carry up a stair and hold flat while it is set. We work the two limits out against the profile and the access, and draw the biggest clean circle the wall will take.

Not at all — it is one of the few shapes that reads as deliberate in a plain plastered wall, which is why architects use it on stair landings, over entrance doors and in double-height majlis walls where a rectangle would look like a mistake. Made in aluminium and powder coated to the same colour as the rest of the windows, it belongs to the elevation instead of interrupting it.
