Soundproof windows

Traffic on a main road and aircraft on approach sound different, but a window is rated against both by the same figure, Rw + Ctr: the sound reduction index with a correction for the low-frequency noise that is hardest to stop. What holds noise back is mass, damping and an unbroken seal — a laminated pane with a soft interlayer, two panes deliberately made unequal so they do not resonate together, and a frame that closes without a single gap in it. The opening type matters less than the seal: a sash pulled shut onto compressed gaskets holds noise back better than one sealed with brushes. What matters is that the assembly is quiet everywhere at once, because sound will find the one place that is not.

Branded Aluminum Windows UAE service car on a Dubai seafront road

Advantages of working with us

  • In-house production

Windows, doors and glazed structures are made at our own factory in the UAE. Manufacturing takes 3–5 weeks from the survey, and the dates are written into the contract.

  • Room measurement

After a free consultation, an engineer comes to measure within 48 hours and answers the technical questions on site — openings, profile, glass and hardware.

  • Delivery of products

We deliver with our own transport across Dubai and all Emirates, and the installation date is agreed in advance so the crew arrives with the finished units.

  • Installation on site

A "clean" installation is carried out – all construction debris is removed, and dust and dirt are cleaned. Work can be conducted with or without your presence. The date and time are discussed individually.

  • Guarantee

The structures we make and the installation our crews carry out are covered by one warranty under one contract. The profile system also carries the manufacturer's warranty — up to 20 years, depending on the system.

  • Service

Warranty cases are handled by the same crews that did the installation: send the address and photos, and in most cases we can say before the visit whether it is an adjustment, a gasket or a glass unit.

How a quiet window is specified

  • Noise source identified during the survey Road, flight path or a building site
  • Laminated pane placed on the loud side Damping goes where the sound lands
  • Pane thicknesses deliberately mismatched Two equal panes ring together
  • Sealing contours checked around the sash Every gap behaves like a hole
  • Wall joint packed before the trim goes on Trim hides a gap, it never closes one
  • Airing planned so the sash can stay shut An open tilt cancels the glass

The honest downside

When a soundproof window is the wrong spend

An acoustic build-up is heavy. Laminated panes of unequal thickness and a wider cavity make a sash that needs stronger hinges and more effort to move, and a wide opening may have to be split so each leaf stays within what its hardware carries.

It also pays only where the noise lands. On a quiet courtyard side, or high above a road the building itself shields, the extra weight and cost buy nothing you can hear.

If the frames are sound and close tightly, changing only the glass on the loud elevation to acoustic units can be enough. A full soundproof window earns its place where the frames themselves leak air, the sashes no longer pull shut, and the road or the flight path is right outside.

Consider instead Acoustic glass

Frequently asked questions

No window makes a room silent, and anybody promising it is selling something. What a properly built acoustic window does is take the edge off the traffic and push what remains into the background — the difference between a road you notice and a road you stop hearing after a week. The ceiling is set by the rest of the room: the door to the corridor, the air-conditioning grille, the balcony slab and the wall itself all carry sound, and once the window is the quietest part of the envelope, improving it further changes nothing you can hear.

Usually not. A third pane adds weight and cost and was designed for a thermal problem, not an acoustic one. Money goes further into lamination and asymmetry — a damped outer pane, and two panes that do not share a resonance — because two well-chosen panes usually beat three badly matched ones. We would rather change what the panes are than how many of them there are.

It opens like any other window, and the instant it opens the build-up is out of the argument: an open sash is an open sash. So on a loud facade we plan the airing around that — sashes on the quiet elevation, or a mechanical supply — and nobody has to choose between fresh air at night and sleep. It is a layout question we raise during the survey rather than a compromise you discover after fitting.

It sounds different, but the window is rated the same way. Traffic is a steady rumble and aircraft come in bursts, yet both are measured by Rw + Ctr — the sound reduction index with the correction for low-frequency noise, which is the hardest part of either to stop. A laminated acoustic pane and two panes of unequal thickness raise that figure for road and aircraft alike, and the cavity and the seals have to keep pace. Aircraft also strike the roof and the balcony soffit as well as the glass, so under a flight path the window is only part of the answer. The survey establishes which of the two you actually have.
