REHAU systems

A German company from the town of Rehau in Bavaria, and one of the largest makers of uPVC window and door profiles anywhere. It sits on a list otherwise full of aluminium names for one honest reason: when the complaint is noise, a chambered plastic frame with seals running right around the sash is the cheaper way to fix it. That is a real brief in Dubai — flats facing Sheikh Zayed Road, a chiller yard, a school run or a construction site that will be there for two more years. We fabricate REHAU profiles to the manufacturer's specification in our Dubai factory and fit them with our own crews.

Frequently asked questions

In the same money, usually yes — but not for the reason people assume. Most of the sound comes through the glass and through the gaps, not through the frame, so the biggest wins are two panes of unequal thickness, a laminated inner leaf and seals that actually close all the way round. What the plastic section adds is the last part of it cheaply: a chambered profile is a poorer sound bridge than a metal one, so the frame stops being the weak point. An aluminium window can be built just as quiet; it costs more to get there.

When the drawing shows big glass or a hard elevation. A living room that opens onto a terrace in one clear field, a balcony door on the thirtieth floor, anything where the wind calculation has to be signed — those are aluminium jobs, because metal holds a slim section straight under load and plastic does not. There is also a mixed answer we suggest often: aluminium on the exposed side of the flat, REHAU on the bedrooms behind it, one colour across the elevation so it reads as a single decision.

The temperature difference is the easy part — that is precisely what a low-conductivity material is good at, and it is why an aluminium window needs a polyamide thermal break to compete. The harder part is movement, because plastic expands with heat far more than aluminium, and the bigger the sash and the darker the finish, the more that shows up as a window which suddenly closes stiffly in August. It is managed by keeping sashes modest, choosing pale colours on sun-facing walls, and leaving the fitting tolerances the manufacturer asks for.

No. We are not licensed by REHAU or by any other European systems house, and we would not print that claim on a quotation. The arrangement is simpler than a licence: branded profile, gaskets and hardware from the manufacturer's supply, then welding, reinforcement, glazing, fitting and adjustment done by us in Dubai to their published specification. Alongside that we build our own aluminium windows in the same factory — a separate line, priced separately, and always named as ours on the quote.
