Office partitions

A glazed partition divides a floor without darkening it, and the argument about it is nearly always about sound rather than glass. Speech does not only pass through a pane: it climbs over the head of the screen into the ceiling void and travels under a raised floor, so a partition that stops at the tiles leaks both ways however heavy its glazing is. A meeting room that has to be private is therefore taken up to the slab, or the void above it is baffled. Single or double glazing, shown or hidden framing and how the door seals are all chosen after that.

Advantages of working with us

  • In-house production

Windows, doors and glazed structures are made at our own factory in the UAE. Manufacturing takes 3–5 weeks from the survey, and the dates are written into the contract.

  • Room measurement

After a free consultation, an engineer comes to measure within 48 hours and answers the technical questions on site — openings, profile, glass and hardware.

  • Delivery of products

We deliver with our own transport across Dubai and all Emirates, and the installation date is agreed in advance so the crew arrives with the finished units.

  • Installation on site

A "clean" installation is carried out – all construction debris is removed, and dust and dirt are cleaned. Work can be conducted with or without your presence. The date and time are discussed individually.

  • Guarantee

The structures we make and the installation our crews carry out are covered by one warranty under one contract. The profile system also carries the manufacturer's warranty — up to 20 years, depending on the system.

  • Service

Warranty cases are handled by the same crews that did the installation: send the address and photos, and in most cases we can say before the visit whether it is an adjustment, a gasket or a glass unit.

How a floor is divided

  • Floor walked with the fit-out drawing in hand Walked within 48 hours of the brief
  • Rooms ranked by how private they need to be Not every room deserves the same build
  • Head detail agreed with ceiling and services Up to the slab, or the void baffled
  • Sprinklers, lighting and the air path coordinated A sealed room still has to breathe
  • Door sets chosen with seals to match the room The pane is rarely where sound gets in
  • Installation timed around a working building Out-of-hours slots agreed with building management

The honest downside

When a glass office is the wrong call

Glass divides a floor without darkening it, and it also puts everyone on display. People in a glazed meeting room are watched as much as they are heard, and many teams end up covering half of every pane with film, which gives back the privacy and loses much of the light.

Glass rooms are also hard to furnish and awkward for calls. There is no wall for storage, a whiteboard or a screen, and a hard glass box reflects sound, so a small room can feel loud to the people inside it even when nothing escapes.

For one or two people who need to talk without being overheard, a soundproof pod is easier to get right than a glazed room carved out of the floor. Glass partitions are the better choice where daylight, openness and a layout that can change later matter most.

Frequently asked questions

Because the partition almost certainly stops at the ceiling tiles. Above them the void is continuous over the whole floor, so a conversation rises through the tiles on one side and drops back through them on the other, and no amount of glass in the screen below changes that. The other two paths are the door, which is the weakest element in any partition, and the air-conditioning duct that runs from one room into the next.

Single glazing divides a floor visually and is the right answer for most of it — it is lighter, slimmer and costs less. Double glazing earns its place in the rooms where people say things they do not want repeated: two panes of unequal thickness with a wide cavity between them break up the frequencies that speech lives in, in a way one sheet cannot. Choosing it everywhere is simply spending money on corridors.

Demountable systems are designed for exactly that. The framing is mechanically fixed rather than bonded and plastered in, so the glass lifts out, the posts come off the track and the room can be reassembled in a different shape with most of the parts you already own. What you trade away is a little sightline and a little seal quality against a screen built in permanently.

Yes, and there is more than one way to do it. Applied film is the cheapest and the easiest to change when the branding does; frosted or fritted glass is permanent, cleaner-looking and cannot peel at a corner. A band at seated eye level often does the job instead of a whole pane, which keeps the borrowed light and stops people watching each other across a desk. It changes nothing acoustically.
