REHAU is a German polymer group, and its window systems are uPVC, not aluminium. ARTEVO is the glass-fibre reinforced member of that range, and on our list it answers two briefs at once: noise, and heat through a large opening. We fabricate REHAU profiles to the manufacturer's specification in our Dubai factory and install them ourselves.
Where ARTEVO makes sense
Apartments and villas where the complaint is noise and the openings are generous: bedrooms facing a highway, living rooms with a wide balcony door, flats near a flight path. The 80 mm depth and the deep pane pocket leave room for heavy acoustic glass, and the flush sash option gives a plain face where sash and frame sit in one plane.
What the figures do in a UAE summer
A uPVC frame conducts far less heat than bare aluminium, so in a cooled room the frame itself is rarely the weak point. The manufacturer quotes Uf up to 0.97 W/(m²K) for the frame and Uw as low as 0.61 W/(m²K) for the window. The second figure depends on the glass, so in a hot climate the solar-control coating on the unit matters as much as the frame.
The glass-fibre reinforced material keeps large sashes stiff mostly without steel inside. Plastic still expands with heat more than aluminium, so on a sun-facing wall we keep sashes to sensible sizes and prefer light colours. ARTEVO max adds a LowE film inside the profile.
ARTEVO next to the other REHAU series
EURO-DESIGN 70 is the simpler 70 mm five-chamber system in a UV-resistant PVC formulation for hot climates, with panes up to 41 mm, Uw up to 1.3 W/m²K and up to Rw 44 dB. SYNEGO shares the 80 mm depth, with Uf up to 0.94 W/(m²K) and up to Rw 47 dB. ARTEVO takes panes up to 56 mm, or 72 mm with the flush sash, and has the highest published sound insulation of the three, up to Rw 48 dB.
ARTEVO is the REHAU system for large, quiet, well-insulated openings where a uPVC frame is acceptable.
