Composite window opened at an angle so both skins show: oak timber on the room side and an aluminium shell capping the weather side

Aluminium-wood windows

A composite window has two skins doing different jobs: a timber inner frame you see and touch from the room, and an aluminium shell clipped over it on the weather side. In this climate that division is the whole argument — bare timber outdoors here is worked on by ultraviolet and salt-laden air from its first season, while behind an aluminium face it never meets either. The two materials expand at different rates, so they are not bonded together but held on clips that let each move independently; the timber stays in conditioned, dry indoor air where it is stable, and the only surface anyone ever has to re-finish is the one inside the room.

  • timber in, aluminium out two skins
  • clipped, not bonded how they join
  • the inner face only what gets maintained

Advantages of working with us

  • In-house production

Windows, doors and glazed structures are made at our own factory in the UAE. Manufacturing takes 3–5 weeks from the survey, and the dates are written into the contract.

  • Room measurement

After a free consultation, an engineer comes to measure within 48 hours and answers the technical questions on site — openings, profile, glass and hardware.

  • Delivery of products

We deliver with our own transport across Dubai and all Emirates, and the installation date is agreed in advance so the crew arrives with the finished units.

  • Installation on site

A "clean" installation is carried out – all construction debris is removed, and dust and dirt are cleaned. Work can be conducted with or without your presence. The date and time are discussed individually.

  • Guarantee

The structures we make and the installation our crews carry out are covered by one warranty under one contract. The profile system also carries the manufacturer's warranty — up to 20 years, depending on the system.

  • Service

Warranty cases are handled by the same crews that did the installation: send the address and photos, and in most cases we can say before the visit whether it is an adjustment, a gasket or a glass unit.

What a composite window needs settled

  • Survey taken with the interior finish in hand The timber has to match the joinery

The honest downside

When timber inside the frame is not worth it

The timber face earns its place in rooms you live close to — a bedroom, a study, a majlis finished in real joinery. In a bathroom, a kitchen or a room opening onto the pool it meets steam, splashes and wet hands, and occasional care becomes frequent care. A rental where nobody will re-oil the finish is the same story.

It is also more window than a plain aluminium one — two materials, a finish matched to the room, a deeper frame — so the same opening costs more, and on a stair or in a utility room that extra buys very little.

If the aim is the look of wood rather than wood under your hand, an aluminium frame in a wood-effect powder coat gets close and only needs rinsing. The composite stays the right answer where the frame is at arm's length every day and the room around it is finished in timber.

Frequently asked questions

The timber in a composite window never meets the climate. Sun, salt and blown sand all land on the aluminium shell, and the wood sits behind it in conditioned indoor air, which is about as stable an environment as joinery ever gets. The condition that does test it is a property left shut up and unconditioned for months, swinging between trapped summer heat and cold air the day someone returns — the same thing that tests any fitted joinery in the house.

Because they answer different questions. A wood-effect powder coating is a printed decoration on metal: convincing at a distance, and entirely reasonable where the window is a facade element you look at rather than live against. A composite gives you actual timber at the reveal, with the grain and the warmth under your hand. The choice is really about how close you sit to the window and how the room is finished around it.

It is deeper, because two skins have to fit where one did, and that shows as a wider sightline and a deeper reveal. In a generous villa opening nobody notices; in a narrow reveal or where the design depends on the slimmest possible frame it matters, and we say so before it is ordered. It is worth checking against the actual opening at the survey rather than against a brochure image.

As two separate surfaces. Outside, the powder-coated shell is rinsed like any other aluminium window here — the point of doing it regularly on the coast is to get salt and dust off before they sit in the crevices. Inside, the timber is wiped, and an oiled finish is refreshed occasionally, which is a joinery job rather than a window job. The seals and hardware want the same periodic check as on any other aluminium window.
