AWS 75.SI+ is the higher-insulation window in the Schüco range covered here, with the same uses as AWS 65 on a deeper section. We fabricate Schüco profiles to the manufacturer's specification at our Dubai factory and install them ourselves.
Where the extra insulation pays
A window frame is a strip of aluminium between hot outside air and a cooled room. With Uf from 0.9 W/(m²·K), AWS 75.SI+ lets far less heat through that strip than a compact section does, which matters on west and south elevations of large windows, in penthouses glazed on several sides and in offices where the air conditioning runs all day. On a shaded bathroom window the difference is small; on a living-room elevation facing the afternoon sun it adds up every day of the summer.
Glass, sound and weight
Glazing up to 61 mm leaves room for thick build-ups: a solar-control insulated unit with a laminated acoustic pane for a bedroom on a main road, or laminated safety glass on a low sill. Sound reduction of up to 48 dB is the quiet end of that range and depends on the glass, so we specify the unit to reach the level the room actually needs.
Vents up to 250 kg let a tall sash keep heavy glass in one piece. Against sand, the gasket lines and the adjustment after installation decide how tight the window stays; near the sea the finish is chosen for salt air.
AWS 75.SI+ or AWS 65
AWS 65 has a 65 mm basic depth, Uf from 1.9 W/(m²·K), glazing up to 55 mm, the same vent weight of up to 250 kg and burglar resistance up to RC3. It is slimmer and more economical; AWS 75.SI+ is warmer at the frame, takes thicker glass and publishes sound reduction up to 48 dB. A common split in a villa: AWS 75.SI+ on the sunny elevations and road-facing bedrooms, AWS 65 everywhere else.
AWS 75.SI+ is the Schüco window to specify where the frame's share of heat and noise really counts — big sunny glass and bedrooms by the road.
