Terrace doors
Terrace doors belong to ground-floor rooms that spill into a garden: opened for guests, for the pool, and for the months when the evening air is finally worth having. That asks for wider openings and more panels than any balcony needs, and for a threshold people will cross carrying trays. Beside irrigation and chlorinated water, the details that decide the job are drainage at the sill and hardware that shrugs off constant damp.

Profile finish and coating options
Powder coating in any shade of the RAL palette; the colour is confirmed against a physical sample at the survey.
Anodising builds an oxide layer on the profile itself, so the colour belongs to the metal rather than to a film on top of it and cannot peel.
Wood-grain and stone-effect finishes are transferred onto the powder coating. The profile keeps the strength of aluminium and never needs repainting.

The honest downside
When a wide terrace door is not the answer
A multi-panel terrace door is built for the evenings when the room is thrown open. Through much of the summer it stays shut with the air conditioning on, and then it is a wide expanse of glass facing the garden sun, several panels to clean and a long track collecting sand and garden debris.
Width brings its own upkeep. More panels mean more rollers to regulate and more seal lines, and at ground level more glass to secure. A flush threshold works only where the paving falls away from the house and the channel beneath is drained.
If the opening onto a shaded or covered terrace is modest, or used mainly to step outside, a French pair seals on every edge and costs less than a multi-panel set. A wide terrace door remains the right choice where the garden, the pool and the living room are really meant to become one space.
