Large sliding doors in a Dubai villa spend most of the year closed, so they have to insulate like a wall and still open easily in the cooler months; ASE 60 is built around both. We fabricate Schüco profiles to the manufacturer's specification at our Dubai factory and install them ourselves.
Where ASE 60 fits
Living rooms onto a pool deck, a majlis onto the garden, penthouse terraces, villas facing the beach — openings where each vent can be large: up to 3500 mm in both width and height and up to 500 kg. That lets a tall vent keep thick laminated glass in one piece. The interlock, from 40 mm, is the vertical line where two vents meet; it stays narrow enough not to dominate the view.
Heat, sand and salt air
Uw from 1.1 W/(m²·K) is a whole-window value, and a good one for a sliding door. On a west-facing glass wall it is what keeps the room behind from warming up by late afternoon, together with the solar-control coating on the glass.
Manual lift-and-slide vents sit on their seals when closed instead of sliding along them, which helps in a sandy climate; the track still needs cleaning after a shamal. On the coast the finish and hardware are chosen for salt air, and drainage at the threshold is designed together with the floor.
ASE 60, ASS 50 or ASS 77 PD.HI
ASS 50 is the smaller, simpler system: vents up to 3000 mm and 400 kg, Uw from 1.9 W/(m²·K), glazing up to 32 mm. ASS 77 PD.HI is the panoramic one: interlock from 37 mm, Uw from 1 W/(m²·K), glazing up to 60 mm and vents up to 3200 mm wide and 500 kg, moved by TipTronic electric drive. ASE 60 sits between them — larger vents than ASS 50, manual operation unlike ASS 77 PD.HI.
ASE 60 is the Schüco sliding door for large villa openings that should stay manual, insulate well and carry heavy glass.
