In a lift-and-slide door the handle lifts the sash onto its rollers to move it and lowers it onto the seals to close. The Glide offers that mechanism and a plain sliding version in one family. The profile is extruded in Dubai by Gulfex (Gulf Extrusion LLC); we fabricate it to the manufacturer's specification in our Dubai factory and install it ourselves.
Where The Glide fits
Villa living rooms that open onto a pool or garden, beachfront homes, hotel suites and restaurant terraces where the opening is the view. The 420 kg lift-and-slide limit allows large panels with thick glass, so a wide opening closes with fewer sashes.
The plain sliding version, with sashes up to 200 kg, suits bedrooms and secondary terrace doors in the same house, so the whole elevation reads as one system.
Seals, sand and salt air
When a lift-and-slide sash is lowered, its own weight presses it onto continuous gaskets, which seals better against wind-driven dust than brushes alone. That is why we prefer the lift-and-slide version on openings facing open desert or the sea, where a shamal pushes fine sand at the threshold.
Near the coast the finish and the hardware matter as much as the section, because salt air attacks exposed fixings first. We choose the finish and the running gear for the location during the survey.
The Glide next to The Next and TB105
The Next is the multi-track series with published figures for size, heat and wind: sashes up to 2.0 × 3.5 m and 230 kg, Uw 1.7 W/m²K, 2000 Pa. TB105 is the lighter sliding option, with sashes up to 2.4 m tall and 180 kg. The Glide is the one for the heaviest panels, with a narrow 40 mm interlock.
The Glide is the family's system for wide, view-first openings with heavy glass, especially where the lift-and-slide seal is worth having.
