ASS 50 is the entry point to the Schüco sliding systems covered here: a way to put a large, manually operated opening on a balcony without the depth and cost of the heavier series. We fabricate Schüco profiles to the manufacturer's specification at our Dubai factory and install them ourselves.
Where ASS 50 fits
Balcony doors in apartment towers, a villa bedroom onto the terrace, a kitchen onto the garden — sliding openings with vents up to 3000 mm wide and 3000 mm high, where the door is used daily and opened by hand. The lift-and-slide version raises the vent off its seals before it moves, which keeps a heavy vent of up to 400 kg easy to push and tight when closed.
The figures in heat and dust
Uw from 1.9 W/(m²·K) is a whole-window value and the least insulated of the three Schüco sliding systems here: fine for a shaded balcony, weaker on a large west-facing opening where frame and glass together let more heat through. Glazing up to 32 mm allows an insulated unit with solar control, but leaves little room for thick laminated acoustic build-ups.
Sliding tracks in the UAE fill with fine sand after a shamal. Lift-and-slide vents sit on their seals when closed rather than rubbing along them, so the seals wear less, and the track needs a place in the cleaning routine either way.
ASS 50, ASE 60 or ASS 77 PD.HI
ASE 60 goes further: Uw from 1.1 W/(m²·K), vents up to 3500 mm wide and high and up to 500 kg, with an interlock from 40 mm. ASS 77 PD.HI is the panoramic system with an interlock from 37 mm, Uw from 1 W/(m²·K), glazing up to 60 mm and TipTronic electric drive. ASS 50 is the practical, manual door for ordinary balcony and terrace openings.
ASS 50 is a sensible Schüco sliding door for everyday balcony and terrace openings; where the opening grows, faces the afternoon sun or needs thick glass, ASE 60 is the step up.
