Single-field aluminium window with one sash and a slim dark frame in a quiet Dubai villa study, garden greenery through the pane

  • ONE FIELD

Single-panel windows

A single-panel window is one field of glass in one frame — no mullion, no transom, nothing crossing the view. That makes it the plainest thing we build and the easiest to keep sealed, because there is exactly one perimeter to compress and no meeting stile where two sashes have to close against each other. The catch is that everything the window has to deal with — the glass, its weight, the wind on it — is carried by that one field, so the size is settled by what a single leaf can weigh on its hinges or, if the field is fixed, by what a crew can carry into the room and hold flat.

Branded Aluminum Windows UAE service car on a Dubai seafront road

Advantages of working with us

  • In-house production

Windows, doors and glazed structures are made at our own factory in the UAE. Manufacturing takes 3–5 weeks from the survey, and the dates are written into the contract.

  • Room measurement

After a free consultation, an engineer comes to measure within 48 hours and answers the technical questions on site — openings, profile, glass and hardware.

  • Delivery of products

We deliver with our own transport across Dubai and all Emirates, and the installation date is agreed in advance so the crew arrives with the finished units.

  • Installation on site

A "clean" installation is carried out – all construction debris is removed, and dust and dirt are cleaned. Work can be conducted with or without your presence. The date and time are discussed individually.

  • Guarantee

The structures we make and the installation our crews carry out are covered by one warranty under one contract. The profile system also carries the manufacturer's warranty — up to 20 years, depending on the system.

  • Service

Warranty cases are handled by the same crews that did the installation: send the address and photos, and in most cases we can say before the visit whether it is an adjustment, a gasket or a glass unit.

What we settle on a single-field window

  • Reveal measured and checked for square One field reports a twisted opening
  • Fixed or opening decided by the room A store or a plant room may need neither
  • Glazing unit chosen for the wall it faces Solar control where the sun lands
  • Hinges and handle rated to the leaf Weight, not width, sizes the gear
  • Made and glazed in our Dubai factory Three to five weeks from the drawing
  • Fitted, sealed and the sash set Compression checked all the way round

The honest downside

Where one field is not enough

Everything rides on one leaf. The wider it gets, the wider the arc it sweeps into the room and the harder it is to hold against a gust on an upper floor. A big single sash is also all or nothing: open it for air and the whole opening is open, which in a child's room means relying on a restrictor.

One field also means one glass specification. Where part of the opening wants a heavier acoustic or laminated build-up and part has to stay light enough to swing, a single field cannot split the difference.

Once the opening is wider than a comfortable sash, a two-panel window with a fixed pane and a narrower opening leaf keeps the airing manageable and the glass flexible. A single panel stays the right answer for narrow openings — a study, a stair, a bathroom — where one clean field and one seal line are the point.

Consider instead Double-panel windows

Frequently asked questions

Whenever the opening is narrow enough that a mullion would eat most of the daylight, and whenever the view matters more than the ventilation — a stair window, a study, a guest bathroom, the small square opening in a service corridor. Past a certain width the argument reverses: the pane grows heavy, the wind has more area to push on, and a post in the middle starts doing more good than harm.

The honest limit is not width but the load on the hinges, and it announces itself over time rather than on the day of fitting: a leaf that is too heavy for its gear slowly drops at the outer bottom corner until it catches the frame. So the calculation runs on the weight of the finished sash — profile plus the glass build-up specified for that wall — and where it comes out high we either move to heavier hardware or divide the opening.

No, and it should never be specified as though it might. A fixed field is sealed shut for its whole life, so a room glazed that way depends entirely on the air conditioning and on whatever mechanical extract it has. Where a single field is the right look, we check what else in the room opens; in a bathroom or a utility space that is usually the extract fan, and in a bedroom it has to be a sash somewhere.

It is the usual answer there. One small field takes obscured or acid-etched glass cleanly, and a top-hung leaf lets steam out without ever giving a line of sight in. The part worth specifying carefully is the hardware: a wet room in a coastal villa is warm, humid and salty air most of the year, so stainless fittings and a finish specified for that exposure are what keep it working.
