Garden room at a villa
Thermal-break frames and solar-control glass
A villa door opens straight onto the outdoors — no lobby, no shared corridor, no buffer of cooled air. It is usually taller and wider than anything kept in stock, often a single pivoting leaf, and it stands in whatever the plot throws at it: glare on an unshaded porch, sand drifting across the paving, wind pulling at the leaf on an open compound. That combination decides the pivot set, the depth of the seals and the way the sill drains.

Powder coating in any shade of the RAL palette; the colour is confirmed against a physical sample at the survey.
Anodising builds an oxide layer on the profile itself, so the colour belongs to the metal rather than to a film on top of it and cannot peel.
Wood-grain and stone-effect finishes are transferred onto the powder coating. The profile keeps the strength of aluminium and never needs repainting.

The honest downside
A tall single leaf makes an arrival, but it is heavy to live with. Every trip out means moving a large reinforced panel, children and older family members feel that most, and on an open compound a gust catching an open leaf needs a closer and a hold-open position to keep it under control.
The size shows in the sealing too. A pivot leaf seals with brushes and gaskets around the rebate rather than one compressed line, and on a windy day sand looks for the gap at the pivot. An unshaded porch adds heat to any dark finish.
If the family goes in and out many times a day, a double-leaf door built leaf-and-a-half keeps a generous everyday leaf and a reserve for furniture and guests. An oversize single leaf remains the right choice where the entrance is sheltered, used mostly for arrivals, and the scale of the door is part of the architecture.
