Brown doors
Brown is usually a request for wood without the maintenance timber demands out here. A decorative wood-effect finish carries a grain pattern into the coating on an aluminium profile, so the door looks like oak or walnut at the porch and behaves like metal in the heat — it will not dry out, swell in summer humidity or want re-oiling every season. What remains is choosing between a warm bronze-brown and something closer to chocolate.

The honest downside
Before you choose a wood-effect door
A wood-effect finish is a pattern carried in a coating, and it convinces from a few paces rather than under the hand. Touch the leaf and it is metal, with none of the texture of timber, and in afternoon sun a dark chocolate shade runs warm like any dark finish.
Sun is the bigger issue. A printed grain works harder in direct exposure than a plain shade, and a deep scratch through it cannot be retouched to match the pattern around it. On an unshaded west-facing entrance, a decorative finish is the one most likely to look tired first.
For a fully exposed entrance, anodised bronze gives a warm metallic tone with nothing printed to lose and an edge that cannot chip. Wood effect remains the right choice on a deep, shaded porch or indoors, where the grain is seen up close and the sun rarely reaches it.

No. The pattern is transferred into a powder coating that has already been fused to the profile, so it becomes part of the cured surface rather than a film laid over it. It will not lift at an edge the way a wrap does, though like any decorative finish it is happier out of relentless direct sun.
Timber can be beautiful here and it is hard work. Between summer humidity, dry desert wind and unfiltered sun, an external timber door moves, opens its joints and needs sanding and re-oiling on a schedule nobody keeps. Aluminium with a wood-effect finish gives you the appearance without the calendar.
Warm bronze-browns sit comfortably beside the beige stone and sand-coloured render most compounds use, while dark chocolate reads as almost black from the street and needs a lighter surround to be seen at all. Both change completely once the porch falls into shadow, so samples are viewed in place.
Any decorative pattern works harder in direct sun than a plain shade does. On a deep shaded porch it holds its look for a very long time; on a fully exposed west-facing entrance we would rather sell you a plain brown coating or an anodised bronze, which have nothing printed to lose.
