A door that stays straight in the sun
A dark door in the afternoon sun is hot on the outside and cool on the inside, and an aluminium leaf wants to bow, like a bimetal strip. GWD 070 counters this with flexible, perforated PA 6.6 bridges in the leaf and three-chamber profiles. For a west-facing villa entrance that is the detail that keeps the door closing smoothly in August as well as in January.
What GWD 070 can carry
One- and two-leaf doors with side panels and transom lights let a single system frame a wide entrance. The leaf takes glass up to 55 mm and the fixed panel up to 60 mm, room for a laminated security pane or an acoustic unit. Burglar resistance up to RC 3 / WK 3 suits a villa that stands empty during the summer.
The frame is published watertight to 1000 Pa all around, and the threshold has its own, lower class. So on an exposed terrace we plan a canopy or a drainage channel in front of the door. Wind class C4/B4 covers most villa and low-rise entrances.
GWD 070 or GWD 080
GWD 080 is the deeper door: an 80 mm series with glass up to 60 mm, published element sizes up to 1500 × 3000 mm for one leaf and 3000 × 3000 mm for two, RC 2 with a panic function and watertightness 1200 Pa. Take GWD 080 for tall or very wide entrances; GWD 070 for standard openings where RC 3 security and a slimmer section matter more.
GWD 070 is a well-insulated GUTMANN door for villa entrances and terraces that need high burglar resistance and a leaf that stays straight in strong sun.
