Yes. The engineer's visit, the measurements and the calculation cost you nothing and carry no obligation, and the drawing stays with you. We would rather spend a visit on a client who then compares us properly than quote a number before anyone has measured the opening.
Because a percentage is only meaningful against a fixed list price, and windows do not have one — every order is priced from its own drawing. We would rather show you the calculation line by line than perform a discount.
Volume changes what goes into the calculation: repeated positions, one delivery plan and one crew mobilisation, and that is reflected in the quotation. For developers and owners' associations we price the package as a whole rather than multiplying a unit rate.
Yes, and it is usually worth doing. Competing quotations differ on things that are easy to miss — which profile system, which glazing make-up, whether fitting and sealing are actually included — and half an hour reading them side by side often explains a gap that looked like a discount.
