Windows in Umm Al Quwain

Umm Al Quwain is the quietest emirate in the country — lagoons, sandbanks, low houses and long gaps between them. Almost every job here is a single property: a family house, a farm building, a guest annexe, a terrace someone wants closed in. Owners are used to hearing that this is too little work to schedule, which it is not: a house's worth of openings goes into the same week's production as a much larger order and moves at the same speed. What the place really changes is the specification. Nothing next door casts shade, so the sun arrives on every elevation, and the water at the end of the garden brings damp air and insects with it.

We produce

Curtain walls, structural and semi-structural glazing, ventilated and cassette facades. The system carries its own weight and the wind load of a tall building, and the glass line stays unbroken across the elevation.

How a single-house job is run

  • Free survey however far out the plot is Engineer on site within 48 hours
  • The sun traced right round the house Open ground on all four sides
  • Terrace or majlis enclosure drawn with the house One set of drawings, one finish
  • Screen openings fixed before manufacturing So nothing is surface-fixed afterwards
  • Manufacturing in our Dubai factory Three to five weeks from the signed drawing
  • Fitted by our own crew in one visit The house is closed up again before the crew leaves

Partitions

Office partitions made of aluminium profiles are a simple, quick, and cost-effective way to organise efficient zoning within a large space, while maintaining interior unity.

Frequently asked questions

No, and the reason is how the factory is loaded rather than politeness. Aluminium is cut and assembled to order, not pulled off a shelf, so one house's openings are scheduled into the same production week as a far bigger order and come out of it on the same clock — three to five weeks from the signed drawing. The measurement visit is free wherever the plot is, and there is no call-out charge for being at the quiet end of the country.

Everywhere the sun reaches, which on an open plot is close to everywhere. In a street or a tower the neighbours do half the shading for you, so solar control is normally put on the south and west and left off the rest; a house standing alone by the water takes low sun on one side in the morning and the whole afternoon on the other, with nothing in between to break it. We walk the plot and mark it elevation by elevation — and the side facing the lagoon usually keeps a clearer unit, because a heavily tinted pane turns the water grey and there is no point owning that view through it.

They should be. A screen decided after the frames are made ends up surface-fixed, fouls the sash and tears within a season. Planned on the drawing, it sits in its own track outside an inward-opening sash or runs alongside a slider, and the handle still clears it with the screen closed. The screens themselves come from our sister brand Mosquito Nets UAE, so one crew sets the window and the screen together.

Usually, and on the low houses here it is one of the commonest requests — a shaded terrace becomes a room that can be air conditioned. Two things get checked at the survey: what the existing slab and parapet can actually carry, since the new frames load them, and whether the roof over it is staying as it is. An enclosure also changes the outline of the building, so whatever approval the local authority asks for is prepared alongside the drawing rather than chased after the frames are made.
