F80 CS is offered in the UAE by Gutmann Middle East LLC, Dubai Investment Park 2. The units are assembled and glazed at our Dubai factory to the manufacturer's specification, and our own crews set them on the building.
Why factory-glazed units
Glazing on a construction site in summer means heat, dust and wind on the bonding and sealing work. In F80 CS the units are glazed in the factory, so that work is done under control and the site team only sets and seals the units. The supplier stresses a high degree of prefabrication, good workmanship and lower installation costs, which matter on mid-rise offices, hotels and residential buildings with repeated bays.
What is published and what is checked
The supplier publishes watertightness 1000 Pa, wind class C5 and air permeability class AE, and describes an overlapping sealing system with butt joints. Face width, glass thickness and a thermal value are not published, so for F80 CS the engineer takes them from the supplier for the project before the facade design is fixed.
GWD 70SK top-hung and pop-out windows can be built into the units, so opening vents come from the same family as the wall.
F80 CS or the Unitized curtain wall
The Unitized curtain wall goes one step further: whole units are made and glazed in the factory and hoisted onto anchors on the building, with watertightness 1000 Pa and wind class C5. It suits towers where speed and repetition count most. F80 CS fits buildings where a semi-unitised approach is enough.
