The Unitized curtain wall is offered in the UAE by Gutmann Middle East LLC, Dubai Investment Park 2. We fabricate and glaze the units at our Dubai factory to the manufacturer's specification and install them with our own crews.
How a unitised facade goes up
Each unit leaves the factory finished: frame, glass and seals. On site the units are lifted floor by floor onto anchors already fixed to the building, and neighbouring units lock together with an overlapping seal at the butt joints. Because nothing is glazed on the building, the facade closes in faster, and the supplier points to tight fabrication tolerances in a controlled indoor environment as the basis of quality.
What matters in the UAE
On a tower in Dubai Marina or Business Bay, glazing on site in summer is slow, hot and dusty work at height. Moving it into the factory protects the bonding and sealing and shortens time on the building. Watertightness 1000 Pa and wind class C5 are published; unit dimensions, glass thickness and a thermal value are not, so they are designed for the project with the supplier and checked against the structural engineer's wind-load and movement calculation.
Unitized or EF 68/EF 68+
EF 68/EF 68+ is the unitised system with published limits: a 68 or 78 mm face width, glass 26–38 mm (EF 68+ up to 52 mm), units up to 2600 × 3600 mm and 300 kg, mitred corners and a 10 mm butt joint. Choose EF 68 when its published sizes fit the floor grid; the Unitized system when the unit is designed for the project.
The GUTMANN Unitized curtain wall is for towers and large buildings that want factory-glazed units, fast installation and a facade designed around the project.
