In the UAE F50/F60 Staggered is offered by Gutmann Middle East LLC, Dubai Investment Park 2. We prepare the elements at our Dubai factory to the manufacturer's specification and install the facade with our own crews.
Semi-unitised: what changes
In a stick wall everything is assembled and glazed on the building. In a semi-unitised wall part of the work moves into the factory, so fewer operations happen at height and the quality of the prepared parts is controlled indoors. F50/F60 Staggered keeps the familiar F50/F60 details: identical profiles for mullion and transom, straight cuts with no transom notching, joint connectors for a gap-free transom joint and inner gaskets of equal width.
Reading the figures
Us 0.76–1.8 W/m²K is calculated to DIN EN ISO 10077-2. The range is wide because the value depends on the glass and the build-up, so we calculate the actual wall before the order. The lower end needs high-performance glass, which a sun-facing elevation in the UAE usually gets anyway.
Watertightness is published at 1000 Pa, wind class C5 and air permeability class C4. Compared with the stick F50/F60 the water value is lower (1000 against 1500 Pa), which the facade engineer weighs on very exposed elevations.
F50/F60 Staggered or F80 CS
F80 CS is the other semi-unitised system in the range: large glass units made and glazed in the factory, glass-bead, SG or semi-SG appearance and optional GWD 70SK top-hung windows, with watertightness 1000 Pa and wind class C5. F80 CS publishes no face width or thermal value, while F50/F60 Staggered does, which makes early design easier.
F50/F60 Staggered is the semi-unitised version of the GUTMANN F50/F60 family, for buildings that want the familiar 50 or 60 mm grid with part of the work moved into the factory.
