A stick curtain wall is built on site from vertical mullions and horizontal transoms, with the glass fixed into the grid; F50 is that idea within the Decalu line. We fabricate Deceuninck profiles to the manufacturer's specification at our Dubai factory and install them ourselves.
What F50 is for
Buildings where the glass wall is a few storeys tall rather than a tower: a car showroom, a clinic or a nursery, a low office block, a mall extension, a stairwell glazed from ground to roof. The published limit of up to 18 m in building height sets the scope clearly. Within it, equal 50 mm sightlines give a regular grid inside and out, and because Decalu windows, doors and vents fit into the same facade, opening lights and entrances do not need a second system with different lines.
Heat, wind and water on a glass front
Uf from 0.78 W/m²K is a frame value, and on a curtain wall it matters: a facade is a lot of aluminium grid, and an insulated one keeps that grid from becoming a heat bridge between a hot exterior and a cooled interior. The glass still carries most of the load, so the build-up is chosen per orientation — solar-control coating on the south and west, often simpler glass on the north.
Watertightness of 1500 Pa (PN-EN 12155:2004) and wind resistance of 1600 Pa (PN-EN 12179:2004) are the pressures the system was tested to. They are figures for comparison and for the engineer's calculation, not a promise for every building: the wind load on your facade depends on its height, exposure and location, and the bracket layout into the slab is calculated for it.
F50 with the Decalu windows and doors
Inside an F50 facade the openings come from the rest of the line: Decalu88 Standard windows with casement or tilt-and-turn sashes, Decalu101 Scand where the outer glass has to be reached from inside, Decalu88 Entrance Door for the way in. Staying within one family keeps the finish, gaskets and detailing consistent along the elevation, and it makes later maintenance simpler.
Decalu F50 is a sensible curtain wall for buildings within its published 18 m height, especially where the facade should carry Decalu windows and doors in the same line.
