Montana is not a separate company: it is the thermal-break sliding series of Gulfex (Gulf Extrusion LLC, Dubai), the aluminium extruder of the Al Ghurair Group, so the profile itself is made in Dubai. We fabricate Montana profiles to the manufacturer's specification in our Dubai factory and install them ourselves.
Balconies, bedrooms and fixed lights
The series covers the everyday sliding openings of a UAE home: an apartment balcony door, a bedroom window, a villa kitchen onto the garden. Fixed lights above or below the sashes let a tall opening be divided without a separate frame.
What the figures mean in heat and sand
The thermal break is 16 mm and the glass is 24 mm, a standard double-glazed unit in which a solar-control coating does much of the work against the sun. The only published U value for a whole window is Ust 3.3 W/(m²K), and it comes from the manufacturer's 2017 catalogue. That is above the Dubai Building Code limit for windows (U ≤ 2.1 W/m²K where glazing is up to 40% of the wall, Table E.5), so where the code applies we first ask Gulfex for a current test figure or offer a series that meets the limit.
The catalogue gives a performance class of H-HC40. On site the part to watch is the track: a drained sill and cleaning after sandstorms keep the rollers running.
One profile on all four sides
Using the same frame profile and the same sash profile all the way round keeps the parts list short and the section identical on every side. For wider openings, the Montana 120 Multi-Track version adds layouts on three or four tracks.
Montana 120 is a straightforward Dubai-made slider for balconies and windows of ordinary size; where the code's U-value limit applies, the thermal figure is checked first.
