Montana is the thermal-break sliding series of Gulfex (Gulf Extrusion LLC, Dubai), part of the Al Ghurair Group; the profile is made in Dubai. We fabricate Montana profiles to the manufacturer's specification in our Dubai factory and install them ourselves.
Wide balconies and terraces
A wide balcony in a Marina apartment or a villa living room onto the terrace often needs more sashes than two tracks can carry comfortably. On three or four tracks every sash has its own path, so they slide behind each other into a stack and the open part of the opening grows.
What the published figures cover
For the multi-track version the manufacturer publishes two figures: 3 – 4 tracks and 24 mm glass. The thermal figures of the base Montana 120 — a 120 mm system depth, a 16 mm thermal break, performance class H-HC40 and Ust 3.3 W/(m²K) from the 2017 catalogue, above the Dubai Building Code window limit of 2.1 — are published for that frame; for a multi-track frame we confirm them with the manufacturer before we quote.
24 mm glass is a standard double-glazed unit. With a solar-control coating it handles the sun on a typical balcony; the wider sill of a multi-track frame needs drainage and cleaning so sand does not build up in the extra channels.
Multi-Track or Montana 120
Montana 120, with two to four sashes and fixed lights above or below, covers ordinary balcony doors and windows. The multi-track version is for openings wide enough that more tracks are needed and a larger share of the width should open.
Montana 120 Multi-Track is the Montana option for wide openings where more of the width has to slide open.
